Flush Mount Front Signals
#33
The small flat oval ones....like in Inderocker's picture. I found the bulbs at the local dealer, about $2 each. I found clear ones at local auto parts stores, but they all looked at me funny when I asked for amber bulbs.
The LED versions are either more expensive, or don't fit well, or don't have dual filaments. I think I found an online supplier for "LED bulbs"....I'll order a set & keep the list informed.

Proton flush mount
I got a set of Proton LEDs for an RC51, they fit great- I kept the rubber trim to help cover the hole, and they are very bright. Here's a pic of the running light, I have a movie of it blinking I'll add as soon as I find a place to put it. They can be set up for standard flash, fade, or strobe (which I'm using), only downside is that they cost around $85.

Yup, they're 3 wire, I wanted to keep the running lights. With them set up to flash the strobe, it's almost impossible to miss them. Here's the link to the video of them flashing on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1g1bAJ8DA4

I got mine from BikeBandit.com for $89.99 with free shipping (save around $7). Ridegear.com has them for $89.99 with free shipping, that's the lowest I can find now. I think the RC51 signal are the same for all years, that's what I used. You'll need resistors to get them to blink right unless you have stock rears.

Where do you get the resistors? At what resistance are they, and how do you install them? Sorry for the multiple questions. If there is a thread on it already, just let me know and I'll look it up. Thanks again.

Hi @ all,
I had those signals before and I must say that I often had problems in traffic, cause if you look right at the front of the bike, you can hardly see those turn signals. If you look at the side, it's great. But during traffic ( especially innercity ) those signals are quite "useless" to me. I got overlooked several times, came to rough situations... Maybe it's the fast traffic here, but enough reason to think about a new solution.
So when I stripped my VTR, I thought about something new... And here it is. Turners instead of fairing bolts...

For those interested I'll try to get a video of the front and side views with the Proton signals. It's supposed to be pretty nice late tomorrow or Tue, so I'll shoot for then, I'll let you know when it's up.

From diretly 90° it's quite bad, but if you're a little in front of them it's much better. They are LED's, so they are very bright. Good to notice. And it's 2 wire. Plus and ground/minus. Just like stock. Oh, maybe just like european stock...

I will never fail to recommend this company, great to deal with and beautiful setup, even if it is a bit spendy

MarineHawk, do you have these and if so do you have any pics? I would like to see them on a Hawk.
Anyone know what color the red Hawks are? I may just go with black anyway, as red darkens over time and my bike is 10 yrs old now.

Thanks.

also was that price for a pair or just one? It doesn't really specify on bikebandit.com. Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay, here are a couple. In one of them it looks like the other signal is flashing slightly, I have no idea why it looks this way through the camera, but nothing is actually happening on the side that isn't activley flashing. For those of you who saw my taillight blinker project, this is kind of the same where they would be more visible on a bike any color except yellow.
