First Post New Owner

Hi everyone,

This is a little premature, but in about 10 minutes I will be leaving to pick up my VTR1000 it is a 98 with 12000 miles on it and seems to run very smooth. I have test drove and left a deposit and will be picking it up tonight. I have been on the site for the last few weeks researching before I purchased and overall, it sounds like I will be very happy.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say I look forward to enjoying the bike and this forum. If anyone has any advice or recommendations for me being that this is a used bike I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Enjoy! Going to pick up my "new" 2001 GSX-R750 in an hour myself....

You'll find this forum much more helpful than other bike sites, due to a more mature group of riders. Researching info on the gixxer was sketchy at best for me.

Nothing like that "it's really gonna' happen" anticipation just before you pick it up. I should have that feeling too, next monday. Nothing sexy tho', another sad wrecked puppy looking for a good home.

Welcome, you will learn pretty quick the SuperChicken has a cult follwing. Especially across the big pond.

Is this your fist v-twin? if so you never go back to in-line four as a primary ride. Loads of fun.

Well I have not stopped riding since I picked her up the other night. This is definitely not my first bike. I have had quite a few bikes over the years, but I think I will be holding on to this one for a while. I find it very comfortable, fast enough for what I need, and great looking to boot. I am used to a little more power, but with a few mods and some body work, I have a feeling I will enjoy this bike for a long time to come.

Earlier today I woke up with a real bad sinus cold, so no riding today, just rest - so it gave me time to come on and post an update. I really appreciate all the responses and information on this site. I will get the pictures up in the next few days and look forward to all the great advice on this forumn.

List of mods to come.

Undertail
Jardine - High-mount exhaust
Lower fairing
High-Gloss black paint
Solo seat cowl
520 conversion

If anyone has any information on any of these mods, has any of it for sale, or knows where to find it at a good price, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again
Jason
