Factory color code

Does anyone know the factory color code on a red 98 'hawk? I need to do some bodywork and I'd like to order the paint online with out having to take a fairing off to get it colormatched.

Italian red

R157

Be warned I gave this info to a professional place that said they could match it. We painted all my plastic and it wasn't even close.

Re: Factory color code

Yes, this is not cheap, but could be better than any " I can match it" guy

Attention to Canadian end European owner, these are the US color code, so some change and/or difference can be for some model and year!! ( as mine there was no yellow VTR in 98 in the US, So I had to pick-up the 2000 color code and there's a slightly difference on the paint, but this is not so bad! )

But in general, this is very accurate, even for many tri-coat paint "pearl" ! And their prices are even on the site if you click on the color code!

After, all you have to do is to find a dealer near your area who sell this paint and bring it to your painter. Or, if as me, you are able to do it yourself, you will appreciated to know that this is a PPG based paint so all reducer, clear and other PPG product will fit perfectly with this paint.

Cheers

Re: Factory color code

Thanks guys. Colorrite.com looks like the direction that I'll be headed. I appreciate the quick response and great feedback.

I'll post before and after pictures to let everyone know how that color matching comes out.
