i have a set of heli bars and im having trouble getting feedback from the front tire... i was wondering if raisers effect the way the motorcycle handles?

Any geometry change certainly affect the "feedback" of the bike. Your feedback will still be there, it will just take some familiarization to understand what it is telling you.

Have you set your sag and rebound for your weight?

Size: 1.4 KB and if you have the next thing would be to pull the forks up 5mm in the triples, if you haven't done that yet

Something is screwy here...I am the same height as you, with a 32" inseam, and I can completely flat foot my Hawk. Granted I have an Ohlins rear shock, but I don't think that has lowered rear ride height; if anything it's higher. Forks are stock height.

Also for what it's worth, I never felt my heli-bars were causing a lack in front end feel. When I switched to a superbike bar, I did notice that I have to actively get over the front end hard when on the throttle though, to keep it from running wide.

I have helis and notice a huge difference when I mount them under rather than over the triple.

Over is a VFR... under is a CBR.

Lots of other mods have helped; you should say what you have on you bike (stock forks, shock, etc). You need fork springs, thicker oil, and a shock spacer. It will be like a new bike.

i will set the sag this weekend, been meaning to do this for a while... 8541hawk do u mean put the front 5mm down so the front is lower than the rear? if anybody would be like to be so kind to measure stock height of the front it would be greatly appreciated. i have racetech springs and valves and FG gubellini rear shock setup up for a 170lbs even though im only 145lbs. i bought the bike this yr. so im trying to chase settings. also, i need to change the fork oil...not sure when it was last service. smokinjoe maybe ill try your setup with the heli under the triple tree ...ill let u know how i make out

Remember to be fully geared up or place all your gear on the bike when you set sag

Thats a pretty big desparity in wt. You are barely gonna compress the spring. You can go to the penske shock web site to see the different spring rates for diff wts.
