Dyno Run 106.1HP

So I am going to MMI in Phoenix, AZ and this week is the horsepower shootout. What does this mean? 3 Free dyno runs for qualifying and two more if I don't get eliminated from the V-Twin Class. I posted a HP rating of 89.1 today which I was told should be more around 95HP since our DynoJet is slightly out of tune at the moment. I actually got 5 runs but I was the second person to go today and the first two the rear tire spun till the roller and my tire were up to temp. Hopefully by the time I leave school next year I will have my bike tuned perfectly and be able to put down a 100+ HP run.

Damn, why didn't you hook up the EGA? This would have been a great opportunity to get some tuning data. Also, did you hook up the sensor to the coil? This will allow you an RPM scale vice a MPH scale.

This week they have over 150 bikes running on the dyno over the course of 3 days with only 2 hours a day to get it done. My bike was on the dyno for no more than 3 mins total and the next bike was on less. In a few months when I get to that part of my schooling I will be able to tune my bike with the full power of the dyno (EGA, RPM, MPH, etc.) I am sure somewhere along the way I will talk one of the instructors to help me.

Mine stock was 100.1hp and 66ftlbs after break-in. I think I may have picked up 3-4 with the bafflectomy and rejet.

Ran the SHawk again today in the semi finals. I am in the V-Twin under 1300cc class. I pulled out an amazing 106.1 at the rear wheel!!! Gained a whole 17HP by tuning with one of my instructors over the last few days in class. I think the SHawk won the competition in my class but I will find out monday. No printer on the Dyno today but I am hoping to get a printout on monday.

Wow that # sounds low - I thought stock HP was higher.

Mine ran 107 a couple of yrs back, w/ old plugs.

At the time it had Stage I jet kit w/ Erion pipes

Lightbulb Hp on Dyno?

Hmmm, only ~89 hp could be due the fact this is a black VTR instead of a RED one! (hehehe)

Could be a poor tune, worn motor, hell who knows...the guy did say the dyno wasnt cal'd right!

I had mine jetted on the dyno recently, the guy was out of printer paper and couldnt remember the numbers off the top of his head but he told me to come back in a few days and he'd print it out for me....he wanted to say 95-100 bhp....so I'd be in the same boat, disappointed....

But hell, my old Mustang went almost 110 mph in the 1/4 and only dynoed at 268 rwhp...people were like "whaaa? that's all?" Dyno's aren't where it's at man, where it's at is on the pavement.

I did the basic baffelectomy and played around with the shims in my carb. I had it shimed at .020" and brought it down to .010 that and the better dyno got me 16HP extra. My K&N is dirty as hell right now too I just don't have my cleaning kit at school. I did a long time ago set the TPS, and the PAIR disable mod when I synced my carbs (Which are still in sync BTW).
