Do the center two hoses on carbs connect to something?

 

Are you talking about the two that are threaded through the carb frame from either side? Those are vent hoses and do not connect to anything, although with this bike it is good practice to unthread them from the frame and point them downward. On older model bikes under heavy breaking they can flood...

 

Thanks for the information. Since I have a 1998 model, it seems it would be a good idea to monkey with the vent hoses a little bit and turn them downward. I need to finish the repair in the morning, anyway.
