could this be done with bafflectomy pipes
i have completed the bafflectomy and feel like i have lost quite a bit of mid range. found this and was wondering if it would be possible to implement it to sh bafflectomized pipes.
any input would be appreciated.

If you where to shim your Needles on your bike you would get back your mid range a **** load of bottom end and maybe even a better tourqe curve up to top end...
By properly re-jetting the carburetor and adding a free flowing air cleaner to an engine with drag pipes, the maximum horsepower produced will improve over the stock engine. But there is a difference between usable power and maximum horsepower. The maximum horsepower of two engines may be similar, but the horsepower torque curves may be different. The area under the horsepower and torque curves defines the "power" the engine produces. The more area that is under the curve, the better the power.
And it only costs around 50 Cents to do it ....

pull the carbs or nothing... just pull the "black roundy things" off the top to remove the carb slide and take the needle out of the carb slide and drop a .030 to .060 washer on to the needle to raise your needles a bit to make the main fuel circuit come on faster of all the mods i did to my bike this was the best one hands down. thats a "quick" run down of the proc. if you serch around im sure you can find a good write up on it here on the forums

LOL No it doesn't look happy!
Back to topic, a #4 brass washer works well for shimming needles - the ones I picked up at the hardware store were .024 and are working well with my K&N (stock pipes still) so you may need to go with 2 washers or a thicker one to get you in the .040 to .060 range.

I would up the sizing on the washer seeing as drag pipes like the article is talking about tend to be a narrow diameter, making the washer in those take up nearly the entire inside diameter of the pipe. This idea basically is supposed to make you have some adjustment in you back pressure. With all the space around the bolt I don't think it is doing anything to restrick or build up pressure. Just my 2c

Heh... just put the PAIR crap back in there and you don't need spark plugs... I ripped mine out after scaring the crap out of my riding buddies... I was running a bit rich and the PAIR made flames the size of my hand at hard decel at lights... Cool, but totaly useless...

prolly useless on the superhawk. i am gonna take out the baffles on my harley davidson and put these in there. they look a lot like big city thunder baffles, except only cost me about $14. i would like to adjust the washers in the carbs, but i am too scared i'd skrew it up.

I used to do Key bangers.. Can shoot a flame out about 6 inches.. Again useless but lots of fun. Scare the crap out of who ever is around. Sounds like a 12 gauge going off. LMAO
