Chain noise??
So I was finally able to get my bike out for a short ride yesterday, since it has been raining for a week. I noticed a strange noise from the chain and sprockets. Chain noise was loud, and clicking at the sprockets( vibration you could feel in the foot peg as well). I checked the slack and it was in good shape, but i decided to tighten a slight amount then ride, same sound, so i loosened it a little and no change in noise. Any suggestions? just a reminder I'm new to working on bikes not familiar with all sound yet.

As i stated before slack was good. Both sides were adjusted equally, i measured the adjustment movement on both sides. fine there . As far as cleaning i will admit to over looking this since i just got it a couple of weeks ago. clean and lube tonight after work. I rode around without a helmet at the school i live next to and that is where the noise was coming from.

Look for kinked links as well. Maybe even pull off the clutch slave and front sprocket cover to inspect it.
To remove clutch slave, tie the clutch lever to the grip, then remove the 4 bolts around the slave and sprocket cover, but do not remove the slave entirely, only the bolts that run through the slave into the engine. The slave should still be attached to the sprocket cover, but you should be able to remove it as one unit. Dont remove the clutch line. When you pull the slave off, a rod will want to come out with it, just push it back in. Check for broken teeth, and check the sprocket nut to make sure it is torqued right 54 N-m, 40 lbf-ft.

As he stated the chain is "a couple of weeks old" I don't think it would be kinked already, just dirty..... Though it was never stated if the sprockets were also changed, which could be causing an issue if the old ones were reused.

Also i had o e that the front sprocket didnt fit the counter shaft correctly had the exact same issues... as per my buddy Manuel the chain should be lubed every 100. miles or so (every fill up)
