brake lights with gilles rearsets

Re: brake lights with gilles rearsets
The stock brake light switch works with the supplied mounting bracket & return spring.
You will have to adjust the switch.
It's got to be adjusted just right so some testing of it's operation will be required.
The only think I don't like about the Gilles is there was no bracket supplied on the shift side to secure the exhaust connector pipe to the rear set like the stock one.
I made a mounting bracket out of a 1" wide by 4 or 5" long piece of aluminum from Home Depot.
It had to be cut & shaped to fit just right.
Used a really short 8mm bolt & washer from the back side (swingarm side ) of the Gilles mounting plate to secure the "home made" bracket. (used blue locktight on the threads)
I had to cut the bolt even shorter to have room to get it in behind the already mounted Gilles mounting bracket.
If I ever want to move it I'll have room to get it out & back in another hole. (got to hold your mouth just right to get the stupid bolt started - not much room to work!
I used the next to top & most rearward footpeg adjustment mounting hole that I know I would never use.
For the connector pipe end.... a bolt, nut, 2 large 'fender' type washers, and 2 of rubber 'fender' type washers secured the connector pipe bracket to the home made bracket.
I painted the bracket flat black to mask it from view.
Used blue locktight on the bolt threads.
Not the prettiest but it works & should pass tech inspection for track day tomorrow.
It took several times of cutting & shaping to get the bracket the right length & shape.
Then drilled the holes, checked the fit, painted, then mounted it.
Crude but effective.
Everything else about the Gilles are top notch!
