Any VA/MD/DC area hawkers out there?
Just moved to the DC area and was wondering if any of you are located near here. I saw another guy on a SH near Waldorf MD (Red w/ fairing lower, high-mount cf pipes and a black tailsection) while I was out riding, but traffic thwarted my attempt at a u-turn and catchup routine. I've been commuting from Upper Marlboro MD to Crystal City on the bike for about the past week and must say the traffic here is completely nucking futs. NYC wasn't this bad. Though the roads there are tighter and there's more congestion, the drivers were better. I'm trying to find the local bike hangouts, but considering the insane suburban sprawl here (and my aversion to searching much closer to DC than the other side of Andrews AFB), I haven't had much luck.

Hey Jim,
I live in Rockville, MD. It's about 25 minutes northwest of DC right off I-270. I use to work down in Crystal city a couple years ago. I hear ya on the traffic...it's insane. I work up at Fort Meade now so my commute is much better taking the back roads on the shawk is awesome. There is a lot of good riding in Howard and Frederick County.
As for bike hangouts... On Thursday nights there is a huge turnout in southern Rockville near the I-270 spur at the Starbucks and Barnes and Nobles parking lot. On a nice night there is easily around 150 bikes. Sorry but I'm not sure about hangouts over your way in Upper Marlboro.
Any way’s good to meet ya. We should go for a ride sometime before the summer is over.

Hi guys, I'm in BFE near Leesburg Va. But I'm up for a ride too if you wanna do it. Just bought my SUperHawk this past weekend but I know the type of bike from my best friends tl1000r. I love it. So, a group of us riding around on SUper Hawks sounds like it should turn a lot of heads and that sounds fun to me!!!!

Was he with a group of assorted sportbikes? I think I saw him last month the day that Airman from Andrews AFB died on 211. Stock exhaust (no bafflectomy either), if it's the same guy...
We do all need to get together though.
