ORRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
If she would have already been naked, then she could have run from them naked on her motorcycle, then if the did catch her, she wouldn't have gotten stripped like that...
--- regardless of the rest of the story... I think there is enough on film to say that they police officers did not handle everything properly... Even in my industry, the term CYA is used all the time... COVER YOUR *** !!! I don't care to speculate on what was happening when the dash camera was off, or what was happening when there where times we haven't seen... But the fact that the dash cam was not running during the very beginning of this event, and the tape of two males forcing her clothing off of her... I don't care what policy is on strip searching, that was humiliating even if nobody else saw.... And even if it where legal, it needs to be changed... But yes, the policy they read online said no members of the opposite sex.... and those didn't look like manly woman.. they where surely MEN... lol
I think this is a settlement case all day long.... It may not go full trial, but the couple will surely win on this one...
BTW... what was she arrested for? I think they said resisting arrest, but why was she being arrested in the first place, to make her start resisting???
But.. back to what condor said... should have run on a motorcycle, but naked in my opinion..

Lady seemed to be in some kind of irrational, altered state. Maybe she was just distressed over what was happening to her.
They said she was at a relative's house & had been attacked by a third relative, as I heard it. Sounded like someone besides her called the police, but the details sound murky. But it looks entirely possible her arrest could have been justified. She didn't seemed to be behaving like the typical soccer mom, did she?
Sherriff clain they didn't "strip search" her. I think their position is that they stripped her for her own safety. They would have been better off leaving her clothes on and posting someone to keep her under observation.
You can tell cops were trying to cover themselves by video taping the incident. Plus, they had at least a couple female cops participating too. Still, it had a bit of an Abu-Grhaib feel to it.
Bottom line though, male cops stripping clothes off her is just wrong. Yes, they tried to be "professional" about it, but that's just not enough.

The policy, as the reporter read it, didn't say "No members of the opposite sex", it said that the "officers conducting the search will be of the same sex."
I saw two women removing her clothes, and the men were restraining her.
Call it semantics if you want, but if the women were removing the clothes and doing the search, then where is the fault in the male officers doing the restraining.
We still don't know what physical state she was in. Alcohol, drugs, prescription drugs.
Too many unknowns. The video is purely from her point of view.

We, and through this logic they, send in multiple opposite sex personnel in these instances because it is meant to improve accountability and prevent happenings of "sexual harassment/assault." There is still the attempt made to have same-sex personnel do the searching and even that happened here. This person was fighting back, acting in a crazy manner, and the police felt the need to treat the person as a hostile. I fail to see how they acted inappropriately.

what you said may be true... it may not be inappropriate... but i'm sure the family will win the lawsuit... I mean come on.. Unless your jury is made up of law inforcement people who have the ability to relate... there is no way they won't win...
they can use the "before the camera came on", and the strip tape all the way to the bank... regardless of what happened...
now i could be wrong, but according to the tape, the even that lead up to the beginning arrest, and the actual arrest was not on tape, because the dash cam was not on... And IF the arrest began on BS terms, or was done inappropriate, then there is explanation for her distressed acts while being stripped.
I don't want to assume who was wrong/right in the original arrest.. nobody knows except who was there.... But, while those acts may have been appropriate for someone who is acting out, and a danger to themselves... Then they should hope they have the beginning on tape to justify it... The fact is, with this public notice now out there... A lawyer will be the least of the family's worries... i would bet there are tons of people willing to work with no retainer on this one... just for the publicity alone...
