what bike that changed your life?
#61
I have only owned four bikes in my life, and all have been "sport" bikes. First was a Yamaha RD400, then came an '85 RZ350, then a brand spanking new 1991 CBR600F2 and now I have the Hawk. The one that changed things the most for me was the F2. It was a quantum leap beyond the two stroke Yamahas in terms of power, handling and braking even though it was heavier. It was what I had always dreamed a sporting motorcycle could and should be.
The Super Hawk is mucho fun, but it's nowhere near the step up in performance from the F2 that the F2 was from the earlier bikes.

'95 Honda CBR 600 F3
Got it my senior year of high school, a month after taking the MSF class. My dad had a '98 Nighthawk 750 at the time.
I've ridden the CBR in the rain, lightning, 100F+ degree days, snow, ice, etc. My sister dropped it at a stop sign, and the throttle bent enough to stick. Never fixed that "problem", I love the cruise control.
I rode it from PA to FL in April, and my sister sort of swiped it from me. She got a Buell Blast to learn on, and outgrew it in 2 weeks. Then she got attached to the CBR. I had to come back to PA for my kids and didn't have time to do the return trip. So I'm in the market for another bike..
