From: Mother Earth- orbiting around Charlotte, NC. But now over the border in S.C.
1983 CR125. It was ported, polished and could hang with most 250s of the day. It allowed me to grab holeshots at the local tracks. Bragging rights; I took Damon Bradshaw to the first turn many of times. I rode that bike hard until the day I ripped the Pro-Link tab off the frame. Had it welded back on and sold it. I miss that bike.

HI there...
We bought our Honda last year. We have a car and motorcycle.
Personally, we have had no problems with either one and I would d
efinitely buy them again in the future. Great quality, nothing falling apart, etc.
Just got to save enough penny for a new one.. And I think, this Honda really
has made me and our family's life changed for the better for we don't
have to worry about commuting anymore.

A Honda 50 Cub. The best selling motorcycle of all time, actually the best selling powered vehicle of all time.

In high school a friend of mine whose family had no car bought one. Since I'd been giving him rides to parties in my parents car, he let me ride it. A year later I'd saved the money and convinced my parents to let me buy a Super 90, a REAL motorcycle. $250, brand new. The rest is history.

In '82 I got my first motorcycle for my 10th birthday, a 1980 Kawi KD80. I would love to know how many miles I put on that bike. It lasted almost 10 years. My Hawk GT was a very close 2nd, but the addiction started in the dirt.

'70 SL100 was my 1st bike, which went everywhere; dirt-street-school.
it had a down swept megaphone pipe and outran every DT Yamaha it came across.
it inspired the need for speed and true freedom we all feel whenever we throw a leg over the seat and give a mighty twist of the throttle,
oh and the metal flake confederate flag helmet was cool

"Changed my life"? Can't say any bike ever changed my life. Changed my opinion of what I value in a motorcycle? That would be the '73 Norton Commando I owned. Made me appreciate the value of torque, low end-mid range grunt vs. dyno graph high rpm horsepower. That's the reason my daily ride is a VTR instead of a supersport I-4.

My 1st street bike was also a SL100! Mine was a metalic blue. Those things were great little bikes. The points on mine always fouled at the worst moment.

That would be the bike that made me want a motorcylce, all the early 60s (pre 65) Hondas fall into this group,
every time I saw one I wanted one; at the time I had no idea what models I was looking at. Now I know them all but cannot say for sure which one I was looking at then…. A kid on my block had a cb160 that I thought was a big bike, how times have changed.

For me, it was a 1993 Suzuki GS500E. It was my first "real" motorcycle. It made me realize it was ME holding back the bike, not the bike holding ME back. After 3 years and 40,000 miles, I finally traded it in on a superhawk.

my folks were always against me riding since both my uncles had had serious accidents in the past. so they weren't willing to spend money on one. when I was three, one of those uncles used to give me rides on his dirtbike around my lawn. I still remember the smell. when I was 13, I was snooping around in my other uncle's garage and found 2 bikes long neglected. he gave one to my cousin a honda cb350. and I got the other one. the very same bike I got rides on 10 years before. a 1972 suzuki TS185. it had a big hole in the pipe that I clamped some sheet metal over, it had no second gear, so you had to wring its neck in first and then shift straight to 3rd.you couldn't adjust the chain, it had original tires on it. this was in 91' with 72' tires. although I got my uncle to eventually put a knobby on the back. I put a wooden number plate in the front, and hacksawed the rear fender shorter. tha thing wasn't very fast and sat way lower than anyone elses dirtbike, but it would power thru anything, and was super stabil on the trails. I rode it in water up to the tank, parked it ontop of giant snowmounds, and took friends over jumps on the back. could not kill it.

Mine was the 1st ride of a 1983 yamaha YZ-80.
I had been limited to 4 stroke hondas before that ( SL-70, XR-80. SL-100 )
I also was a budding mx racer, and dreamed of supercross and outdoor nationals watching Bob "hurricane" Hannah, and David Bailey.
so when my cousin got his YZ-80, he could barely ride it at all.
I helped out with a good test ride to blow out the engine and keep the plug from fouling up.
OMG it felt like my eyes were pressed flat as the powerband kicked in.
I couldnt beleive the accelleration, and the feel.
I had my YZ-80 3 days later!
That was the funnest summer I can remember out of my whole life.
