The troopers pegged his speed closer to 150-160 since they were able to keep up in the pursuit vehicles. He is going to be doing some serious time as the charge of felony evading with a motor vehicle carries a minimum sentence of 180 days to maximum 20 years and 10K fine. Not to mention he will probably never get a license again and you can rest assured his bike was impounded and he'll never see it again.

I don't get why he did that... did he truly wanted to run away? Wrong way to do that for sure... Did he look for publicity? :0 great way to get that, the only problem is that the dude in the video is not even getting how bad he screwed up, I hope he enjoys his publicity in jail, I'm sure someone will if not him.

What I don't get is that they were pulling him over because the motorcycle fit the description of a stolen bike, after he showed it was his motorcycle with the reg. He would have been free to go. Why run?

You know, the article really misses the whole point. What type of bike was it? What mods did it have? What tires? What was the weight of the rider? How are we supposed to argue whether or not he could have attained a speed of 189mph or not? This is bullshit.

I have to have a two minute escape plan formulated for all normal routes, then I need some form of anti-aircraft missle as a back-up. It might be easier to just fall-back to the back-up from the get-go.

Rider says he was doing 189 but we all know actual is a different number. Why wouldn't he at some point exit the highways and try to lose them on back roads, then find a dark place to hide?? Definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed!
It's funny you mention that VTR1000F, I wonder how many of us have that planned escape route??

I think you're wrong, Wolverine. Maybe he had a speedo healer. I'm sayin' he was doing the 189. The guy looks legit and he's a snappy dresser. If he was bullshittin' he'd a said 190 or 200. 189 just smells like truth.
Man, this isn't as fun without the data.

Oh, don't no... 189 actually doe's not sound true, If I recall correctly that was the exact number of true reading on a Hayabusa, and this bike was more like 1000cc, so I have a big doubt he did what he claimed, either way he is done!

In any case, I disagree. At 189 mph, I don't believe any color Superhawk would make it 189 kilometers before running out of gas. While yellow is known to be faster, I've seen no testing to indicate any one color get's better gas mileage than another. That just wouldn't make sense.
