Target fixation.....
Well I can't be sure that is what happened here but it sure looks like it. In any case this is why you really need to look where you want to go, not at the road hazard or car coming the other way.

That is a very profound case of target fixation. Judging from the trajectory of the rider, shown in the second video, he may have survived.
