Hey everyone, I started my chemo pills on Tuesday and yesterday I had my first IV chemo. Feeling a bit crappy today, head hurts and stomach is tight feeling like a mild hangover. I had a long day yesterday had to have an iron infusion before the chemo, that took about 6 hours then I had the chemo that was about 3 hours long. Next time I should not have to have the iron, that's good. Next IV treatment is December 28th.

Sounds like a rough road, buddy. I just spent 5 weeks at home with a leg injury. I was both depressed and anxious at times & it felt creepy. Your situation is much tougher. Hang in there and keep your eye on the future and better health. The Super Hawk Forum crew is pulling for you.

Best of luck on your continued recovery! Sounds like you're handling it well.
My brother just had his colon exam and they found non-cancerous pollups. He said the doctor told him to inform his family that everyone should start colon screenings at 50, 40 if you've got a history in the family....like I now have.
I'm 41 in 3 days....I guess it's time for me to do it.

My mom just finished chemo about a month ago. The first couple days after were the worst for her, then it got better. Stay away from people while your immune system is down, flu season and all.

Hey everyone I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on with the latest. I started my second round of chemo today. One is an IV infusion that has a strange side effect of making you hypersensitive to cold. I forgot about that and after my treatment I took a sip of cold soda. It felt like drinking ice crystals that were sparking all down my throat, and my tongue felt like someone was rubbing 9volt batteries on it. guess I wont do that again. The other is a pill that I take and the Dr reduced my dosage by 1000mg per day. I was pretty tired and groggy this afternoon when I came home but I am feeling better now.
I want to say thank you to all of the members that have wished me well. It is nice to know that there are descent people in the world that would wish an almost complete stranger well.
I hope everyone has a great new year. Also if anyone has a family history like mine and has not had a scope done yet, do it soon.

That's some crazy ****. Have you been riding or working at all? I think I would go nuts if I couldn't keep up on most of the normal things, but I guess I take feeling healthy for granted. What is the next step after round 2, or does it depend on how this part plays out?

Sorry to hear Zmaniv. Keep your head up and when you can't, reach out! I don't know if you believe in prayer but I do. You will be in mine and I wish you a speedy recovery. Keep us all posted man.

Thanks again everyone.
Kevin I am not able to ride now and a good thing because my Hawk is having issues. I am also not working, I have not worked since October 16th. I will probably not be able to return till I am over the chemo in another 5 months. I'm glad that I work for a good company that is giving me full pay (short term disability) for 6 months.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sharing your experience reminds me to take care of myself as well as I can and to never take the healthy times for granted. Best hope for your new year!

Heads up and looking forward to you.
We are just headed down the cancer road. Wife got diagnosed with breast cancer and have been reading your actions and reactions to the chemo/drugs you have been taking.
Second Lymph surgery next week to determine the degree of options.
Sigh, I can't hold her enough to cheer her up.

My wife beat the hell out of Stage 3B (big and bad) breast cancer over the past couple of years. She is doing great now.
You shall overcome Z. And riding will be that much more sweet!
Lowell...I went through it all with my wife. I was at every chemo, and chewed my nails through every surgery. You guys will come out stronger in the end. Keep your head up!!! Let me know via pm if you have any questions or just want to talk about it.

Hey everyone just wanted to give you all an update, I had my final IV infusion of chemo today, after about 1 week I will be able to start working out again. I had my Dr reduce my meds enough last time and that gave me about 2 weeks of feeling good enough to work out every day and even lift weights again.
