Sounds like it's time for one of those really early breakfast runs to Wimberly. I could launch as soon early as 0600 if you guys want to. Have you guys looked at the ten day - next week is fukt up. I think it's all supposed to be over by Sunday. My mesh is working good before noon. LMK

Let me know what day is good for you. I can go this Sat., Sun. or Mon.
Yup that's the big picture of the west and Kody will never forget it. He will meet people along the way that he will never forget. Travel is the great equalizer when it comes to education. There is no substitute.
If we roll out early you could be back and in place by 1100 if we pushed it. I'm ok with that. When we ran out there before we came back on 71 which is a free-for-all for cars and just a fast blast to ride on a bike. We did not push out as early as I want to go this time and were still back by about noon. It's supposed to be 105F tomorrow.
I rode a 1100 cc Honda Cruiser this afternoon for a client. Had the worst time finding the foot pegs - until I saw those funny little floorboard things. Interesting ride but I was immediately taken back four decades to my Cushman.

Dude, you are such "puff pastry".
You know, K-D, when the old man crawls out of the cockpit and says, "you're ready - make me proud!"
The first thing you realize is that you're solo. The next thing you realize is that the old man has been asleep in the right seat for the last 30 flight hours.
Because of my age I had a lot of hours before he got out. What he didn't know was that I had been flying his aircraft for a couple months. I greased three touch & goes in each of four light Pipers on my 16th birthday and it was an experience that I would recommend to anyone.
You know what solo is so it's on for breakfast if you wish. Sunday - early. Bastrop. I've been out this way on the Superhawk before and I just put new grips on so I may leave the VFR at home. I'm just ******* bored to death around town - I need to get out and make some noise.
Last chance b/f Erik gets home for his mid-term leave in August. I got a shitload to get done. I figure I'll be down for about three weeks as busy as I am at the office. You will definitely figure into our ride plans. You'll enjoy riding with him. He's more on your skill level than mine.
I'll try to run down the details for Sunday as best I can tomorrow. I think most of your route is up Hwy 21. I'll try to get an exact fix on the restaurant.

I know exactly how you feel about that first solo. I solo'ed with only about 7 hours in the seat and was nervous and ready at the same time. As i rotated and climbed out to about 60' agl the engine died! I nosed her over and landed just before the end of the runway with tires sliding. My instructor and friends watching almost **** in their drawers when the engine stopped and started running out to the runway. I never thought to panick, just delt with it and done a beautiful landing, everyone was soo proud! Apparently when i switched fuel tanks on the fuel selector just prior to take off, it was not quite in the detent and starved the engine for fuel, Lesson Learned! I now rotate the lever back and forth a few times just to make darn sure it is where it's suppose to be.
Friend of mine came by the hangar this morning and took me for a ride. He has just got his rotorwing endorsement, so i was a little nervous to go up with him but he did okay. My phone was left on my toolbox when we flew, so the only pic's i have are of when we got back and when he was leaving.
