Post Whoring Newbie Thread
That's why dove never made any sense to me. But if it's not the size of a pheasant I can't hit it anyway. I miss the exotic birds that we had at the ranch. I have a client that raises exotic chickens. With thirty birds she is the sole supplier of fresh eggs to a local ministry.
Bike night was awesome tonight. The Harley's rule. I've been parking with the Ducati guys lately. Saw my first of the new version of the Super Duke. Really bad! And big!
Monday's a 30% chance for rain so I guess we're headed to the hanger. We can grab some lunch and then hotrod up to the Salt Lick and stuff some under the seat for dinner that night.
I bought the complete set of Silver Streak luggage for the Superhawk recently so I'm at least going to bring my tank bag or maybe the saddles.
They will strap to the VFR's as well. I'm going to strip the CF D&D off the 98 and put it on the 97 so it won't be so hard on everyone's ears. The 98 is one big pile of ****. Almost $2400 in damage after Monday's near miss with Chas. I'm supposed to get the check tomorrow. Yeah, right!
Talk about a pile of ****. I looked at a $50k backyard project today. Steep terain, big rock retaining walls with a shitload of soil to be brought in, turf, irrigation, patio to entertain ten, hot tub/outdoor shower/waterfall, outdoor kitchen with appliances, bar and seating for ten - arbor covered, landscape lighting, wiring to support all this **** and for all I know they will want cable or sat wired in as well.
I probably drove past two dozen houses that were in the 8-10k square feet range. Toys in his garage included a Range Rover with 18" wheels, a Porshe Carrera S Convertible, and a silver Mercedes 300 - and a custom Harley chopper with pillion seat.
I got to take you out there Randy. This is some truly awesome ****.

My post whoring addendum - Turkeys are the dumbest bird of the bunch. The Butterball kind (the white ones) look up in a rainstorm and mass drownings have occurred in the birds that are not under cover. Ducks look down and flap their wings to dry out. Turkeys look up.
Wild turkeys as adults are known to be cunning and a challenge for new hunters. The ones present in the greenbelts around Austin are used to being fed by homeowners and are more tame and more protected. There is still a predator presence but their numbers have decreased.

I think crows and ravens are pretty smart and fun to watch for 10 or 15 minutes.
Be it smarts or instinct, ruffed grouse are the sharpest birds around. If you've hunted them, you know what I'm talking about.

Thanks, Cleve and yeah, there's going to be lots of pictures because this one includes all the challenges, steep terrain, big rock placement, limited access, lots of craned in product, low water pressure, lots of sub contractors.
When my buddy Russell bought his ranch up in Lampasas county the game expert called for harvesting 180 does the first year. Varmits is one of my fav's too. I've never shot a hog but would like to. Gophers at a hundred yards is just plain fun.

Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but if we kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock us up and throw away the key...
So, um, ah, when we goin
Three cases in a weekend? Ha! I couldn't work for a week with a shoulder like that. Dove would be fun, tho, because I could use my clays gun on those little suckers and still get a kill. I really like shooting that gun but it can only handle target loads. Five boxes and I'm toast. We go shoot the 30-30's at the afternoon turkeys.
No not the one on your back porch
