The Obamination will get away with it...There is too much at stake now for them to bring him down over something like that...unfortunately

RK1, have you noticed how the price of shot has dropped. It was like $60/25lbs, and now it is like $30. Deflation has at least one benefit.
MUHerdFan;

I hadn't noticed specifically, 'cause I've got an old Dillon RL-450 and stocked up on brass, primers, powder and bullets big time years ago. I'm not surprised 'cause I know all commodity prices have dropped big time in the last 2 or 3 months. I love shotguns too and love bustin' clay birds, but having a large stock of 12, 16 and 20 ga. in the garage which I bought for $3 or less per box, I've never reloaded for shotgun.

LAN- That looks like more fun than a trackday! If only NasTrash was that creative, instead they breed ignorance and encourage simplicity, not skill.

I'm going with a K31 first since they are disappearing. I wish that I would have moved on the walnut-stocked K31's before they ran out, but the beech looks fine. After that, the Nagant Revolver, which I find kind of cool. I have a guy down in Purcellville, VA that has M-N's for a few more dollars than buying it wholesale + shipping. I'd like to handpick my own when possible, and I could give a crap about a bayonet since I don't have intentions of 'sticking' anyone with it. I bought a non-numbers-matching M44 from 1952 that is in prestine condition from him for cheap.

Why did you pick the hex receiver if the later, round models were supposedly 'improved'. Did I just say that a surplus, Russian rifle with a country-mile-long trigger travel could be 'improved'?

Just a place to start with the collection..They seemed to be higher priced every place I looked, and I've heard that there were problems with the round models..though I will get a few of those to put up as well...

Main goal is to have a wall full of old rifles, and to be able to shoot some of them from time to time...

Ha, Ha, he said improved! LOL...

though what some people have done to them, and as accurate as they can be for hunting...Not a bad investment...
91/30 = $69 + synth stock =$55 /// Not a bad looking shooter...now if you add the optics, well just watch some of the youtube videos on some of the shoots people are making with them..LOL...

They get an 8 on my cool factor scale...

My intention is to own US military arms, plus some choice foreign arms. I bought a 1943 Springfield M1 Garand the same week that I got married for $600, and I doubt that I will find that deal again. I've found numerous WWII Army and Marine sniper rifles, but alas, no winning lotto ticket.....

Well, I did win $2 in the Fantasy Five on Sat...LOL...course I bought 5 tickets...sooooo...

I like the history with all old firearms, but there are sooooo many out there to choose from...it's almost as if you need a niche if you will...so I am gonna start with the Mosin, and see where it goes from there...

Moolah keeps me from sniper weapons. I have the reissue Remington M40 already. I indirectly know of an original M40A1 locally. I've passed on the WWII US sniper guns, but have found some Enfields. I still want a Dragunov, but honestly, that K31 has been staring at me for long enough.

Had three Swedes. They were my favorites.
A long, a short rifle and a carbine.
