My old glass coffee table held up remarkably well to drunkards falling into it. Only ever chipped one edge of it and it saw a lot of... well, nevermind.

I've seen someone go from sitting on the couch normally, to flipping over the back of the couch and landing sitting down again facing the opposite direction on the floor behind the couch.

I have no idea HOW it happened, just that it did.

When starting remember not to try to hold the boat back just let it happen. Speed should be kept pretty low too.
