"The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."
"He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself."
"An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot."
He also was against government, but that must be seen in the light of the fact that most governments of the day were tyrannies of one sort of another, and he was engaged in fighting the tyranny of England.
As far as rebellion goes, the American people rebelled last November, and pitched the old guys out. It's how we do it these days. There's another chance in 2010. Go for it.

Honorable goals no matter who you are. Any Army (ours does) subscribes to these high battlefield standards. They can, unfortunately, only be realized after most of the bad guys have been hunted down and killed (George's words and I love 'em to this day) or the campaign is outright won. We've done it Iraq and even the rug head can't take credit for that.
'Bammer's words today, "Winning in Afghanistan is not a required end to the engagement." Isn't this the same bullshit that he was talking about Iraq? This stupid **** fights a war in the press, via the press, and won or lost in the press. When we had all but cleaned out the ******* by the time this dumbass took office???? Suddenly he acknowledges the blood of my brothers.

The old guys may have needed to go but the new governors better be up with some huge improvements real quick or this taxation, regulation, fee & licensing structure from local, state, and federal government is going to be challenged.

The suits are just testing their limits. I mean, how else does all this **** get passed when virtually none of the general population agrees with it? Do you know anyone that supports bank bailouts?
Now that they've seen we'll give up our rights and income without a wimper, they'll keep pushing for more.

Wow, someone called the president a rughead a couple pages back. (Perhaps you meant "raghead"?) Someone else cut and pasted from some extreme right wing email he got. Now half the posts are links to old weirdos with too much time on their hands spouting nonsense on youtube? What's next, blackface minstrel shows about naughty romances between Obama and Sotomayor? Someone already called her a *****. Awesome. I pronounce this thread officially dead.
Enjoy the revolution. Look for me, I'll be the one calmly trying to grow a vegetable garden so I can have something to eat after insane right wing crackpot militias loot Safeway. Or I'll be the one slicing up insane right wing crackpot militiamen who **** with my veggie garden. Bleeding heart, my ***. All I got to say about a "revolution" is that anyone coming into my neighborhood with guns talking about "revolution" better get used to the idea that not everyone is cool with a bunch of half-cocked "patriots" rolling into their towns and cities armed to the teeth. Cops are bad enough. I need another group of angry white men with guns "protecting" my "liberty"? **** that. Out of the frying pan and into the fire if you ask me. Coming from a white guy, nothing makes me wary more than other white people who are heavily armed, pissed off, and not real strong in the critical thinking department.
Or I guess these "revolutionaries" will be greeted as "liberators." Funny, I feel like I've heard something like that before...
Redone is right. Those who are pissed about the way things are going are welcome to vote how they like in 2010. Or take up arms and do it the hard way - in which case kindly steer clear of my neighborhood, or deal with the consequences. But if you wanted to take out Daley here in Chicago, you'd find a lot of people who wouldn't mind.
I'm sticking to non-political topics from here on out, I'm sure that'll work out better for everyone anyways.

Don't worry. The Blackstone Rangers (or whatever they're called these days) and other assorted ragheads and rugheads are gonna eat liquidoggie's veggies, and his liver, long before any "right wing militia" shows up.

I don't know why I bother trying to prove my points when others are so intent on doing it for me... thanks k-d. You really have a way with words.

Ahhh come on, everyone else is drinking the apocalypse kool-aid, I can't have some fun too? I demand the freedom and liberty to envision the apocalypse that I think is most likely! How dare you deny me! Socialist!

Now Obama says that when he commented on the Cambridge Police he should have "calibrated" his words more carefully....HUH!!!
Now I know you can calibrate a torque wrench and a speedometer, among other things. I have calibrated a BAR 97 smog machine hundreds of times, but I was not aware that words could be calibrated.
And people made fun of George Bush's speaking gaffs?

Its all funny and silly until its hits the fan and people notice that the paranoid right winger patriots were absolutely correct... then they "change" their perception, as fickle and shallow people always do... and will look to the rebels as saviors after the cool-aid wears off and they realise they have been forsaken and abandoned by the very government criminals they trusted before.
(to re-phrase one of Thomas Jeffersons best quotes)
When a group of government officials take unprecedented steps to consolidate power in the name of a new world order, above the nations and its citezens self intrests... It is neither new , nor is it order.

Hey, keep the door open to the Libs too.
We arent haters, only haters of fraud and corruption..
I look at it like this, if everyone were staunch conservatives, yes the world would function better, but it sure would be less interesting.
We need a balance of free spirited open minded people.
In the favor of Liberals, at least they are indeed open minded and subject to change.
If we set the right example, most liberals see the light, and become blue dogs.
If it werent for those blue dogs, nancy pelosi would have the power to finish destroying the nation with a quickness.
All in all, I see a nation that can function like it used to, without a lot of racism and intolerance.
America... you cant destroy it, you can only **** and **** all over it and make it temporarily stinky ...
Lets find a balance, and a peace - after the armed revolt that sends the illegal aliens back home, and washingtons politicians to the gulags.

Actually, here's a question for everyone, especially those who are pissed about Obama - where do you think we would be right now as a nation if Mccain had won? And I'm asking seriously. And then also, what about Ron Paul? I'm not asking who is everyone's favorite, but what condition would the nation be in right now if one of those other guys had won. Just curious.

I don't mean dead as in "stop posting!" - I'm just expressing my opinion about what's being said. By all means, carry on. I don't agree with what you have to say, but I'll die for your right to say it.

The only thing that you have said that pissed me off was "I pronounce this thread officially dead." Outside of that, carry on. I have several friends that are democrats/liberals that i get along with just fine. We just agree to never discuss religion or politics and we remain friends. I am from a very conservative family and we hold the true meaning of conservative as a way of life. The media and political version is not always the same as mine.
The nation was going down before Obama came on the scene, i just dont agree with the way he is handling it. I would hope that McCain or Ron Paul would have went a different direction than Obama has. The problem is that our political leaders are not looking out for the hard working tax paying citizen and my rights are being loss in the process. Illegals, dead beats and non-contributing humans seem to hold all the cards. Until our leaders listen to us, conservative or liberal. They are (in my opinion) my enemies and need to be removed from power.

Hell, I voted for Jerry Brown for Governor in the '70s, when he ran against Reagan. I figured any guy who was hooked up with Linda Ronstadt must be alright.
And Reagan appeared to me as a stodgy old man, just like McCain appeared to most young people last November.
