My sons's first dirtbike ride!

My oldest son took his first dirtbike ride today on a friends 50cc Honda. I told him when he got good enough on his bicycle he could get one. Guess I'll be looking for a 50cc dirtbike now! (Happy Dad here)

Cool congrats! I don't think I would have done anything else as a kid if I had a dirtbike and that field to play around in.

And it's rich but sometimes hard to find the good in it. If they're still alive at the end of the day - it's all good. Your true test will come when they bring home their first CBR. Best

The kid is a daredevil. Just trying to give him some skill at an early age so when he does bring home the CBR, I'll at least know he has some experience and training to go with it. My whole family rides and my wife's family ride. My brother and I have both talked about if our folks had got us on bikes earlier how much better we would be now. I'm hoping he learns some valuable tools early.

If you can afford it pickup a KTM 50 if he is ready for that. Otherwise the little Honda'a and Yamaha's do well. My boy started at age 5.

Been there done that. My son is now eighteen and on a CRF250R..

I worried about the first street bike he would pickup some day, but knew it would be inevitable as i took him dirt riding all his life. Well you guessed it, he bought a CBR600F4I and uses it to commute to work and college when weather is good. And we did a track day together last year.

I am glad he rides and used the years of knowledge in the garage to now do all of his own bike work when needed.

Enjoy the time, they grow up and start chasing girls before you know it. LOL
