well if you live in nw Ohio, Michigan has some great trails to break into the sport as for a bike you'll just have to go a bike shop and try them out we could recommend brands all day long but whatever fits you best is going to win

Great job on the ride. Is that you in the pics?
I got out of mountain biking when I had kids, too much time working taking care of the kids and helping out at home.
I still have my bike its a 1997 GT Zaskar the only thing original on it is the cranks, big chain ring and shifters. Other than that it is all upgraded. Marzzochi Z1 X-Fly forks, Chris King headset and hub set, I buiilt my own wheels with Mavic 217 hard anodized rims (they are double eyelet) Easton carbon fiber handle bar, Easton seat post.
That was the great thing about working as a bicycle mechanic, I got hella great deals on bike parts.
I really need to start riding again.

Don't have any pictures but I have a Cannondale jekyll 400 I bought back in 04. I used to use mtn and bmx bikes for cross training when I raced motorcross. I haven't gotten much use of it lately but now that my foot and ankle are healed up some more i think i might start riding it more.

Here's the two of my bikes that get the most action. MTB is an older Santa Cruz Superlight, and the Merckx is a Team SC in Domo Farm Frites team paint.
I also have a Pinarello Galileo set up as a single speed, and a Ritchey Road Logic.

Nice Merckx...how do you like the scandium frame?

I love the ride of this bike, but coming off of steel bikes, I'm not 100% sure it's as wonderful as everyone says it is. I do have an Alien carbon seatpost on it, though. It is a light and strong bike, and a keeper! The Merckx team always cleaned up on the cobblestones with it. Museeuw!
