malmo, sweden
last night i was watching cbc tv. i almost lost it when i saw a feature on the greening of malmo sweeden. tweety!!!
your **** powers your busses! the roofs(rooves?) coverred with growing grass to prevent flooding. solar panels everywhere. nice!
the only negative was the naked men polar bear diving in the cold water. didn't really need to see that. aparently you swedish men aren't concerned about "shrinkage", good for you, not for the rest of us. hahahaha

What?! It's the middle of the night fer cristsakes... Doesn't mean I'm in bed sleeping like I'm sposed to though...
I'm not sure exactly what segment you have seen... But yeah, solarpanels are common on rooftops... So are grass covered roofs, or sod covered...
Infact the house I'm living in has both on the roof...

I have been out on one of the windfarms... Öregrund... I can tell you from personal experience that it's windy... Middle of summer, nice sunny day and it was still blowing enough to be effin cold...

yeah middle of the night, why aren't you in bed??? hahahaha you'll be drinking extra coffee tomorrow. that's good though, the laxative effects of the extra coffee will help power the bus to get you home! or are you riding the hawk this time of year?
i have got to get over to malmo.

Nope... No riding... And no buses... There are about 3 inches of snow on the ground now and it's still snowing... Up until two weeks ago it would have been possible to ride through... If you didn't mind freezing like crazy... I parked my bike somewhere early to mid november... The main reason being that my rear wheel felt a wee bit hard and not too grippy in the morning when it was frosen solid...
My main transportation right now is by bike... Then I keep warm atleast...

Yep... Pedal power keeps the motor warm...
BTW... A quick search revealed that the first prototype gas bus was in daily traffic in the summer of 89... Full scale conversion by 91-92 and over 90% of the public bus systems miles where on gas in 98...
