I'm Famous!!!!!
My buddy was poking around the Ducati website today and found a picture of me that was taken during the Indy GP weekend. I was talking to a tech about the proper procedure for setting the belt tension for the cams on my 1098 engine. That would explain the confused look on my face. You have to strum it like a guitar string then use a special tool to measure the resonant frequency. Yeah, I'm probably not going to do that.
Top picture, enjoy:

Next time fold your arms. It'll look more like you're comprehending what the tech is saying.
On car timing belts when it said to use a tension gauge (most Chryslers and some others), I always set the tension so the belt would twist just 90 degrees in the longest section while at TDC. Never had a problem, but they weren't Ducatis.

When we really needed to find the engineer in charge we always looked for the guy with a plastic pocket-protector that was jammed full. The age-roles have been reversed but the "hands in the pockets & that 'You're shitting me' look on the face" is the same.

hahahaha, you must have got a big charge when you saw that!
how can you set the belt tension without the expensive ducati frequency tool. good question.
i can almost see the gears turning in your head. is that smoke coming out of your ears? hahaha

I do play guitar, but no.
I'm a person who values my privacy and could live out the rest of my life exactly as I wish on five million.
Wouldn't have to worry about people I haven't seen since kindergarten pestering me to invest in their fried chicken restaurant chain or "green jobs" windmill factory!

Man, I didn't get a pen! I should pay more attention.
That guy was super cool, really nice guy. He explained stuff csimply and clearly, something I can respect because I lack that ability. If he's a WyoTech instructor then it would say a lot about that school.
