Ever run from the cops on your hawk?

In a perfect world people would obey the speed limit and all of us would
not have stories about stupid things like out running the cops or any other
"bad" activities. We are all still alive and probably have learned not to continue breaking the "law"........but my speedo says my bike does 180
and every now and then I wanna see if I can really do it. I'm 31 yrs old
and I think that I have descent enough judgement that if I am going to
put someone else at risk a cop should give me a ticket....ie 120 in a 35. Condor seems fair, but there are plenty of ******* cops that will give tickets for 5mph violations. I guess is just trying to say that there is a time and a place for everything, and that not all cops suck.

I run from cops ALL THE TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes i speed off, even if i wasn't speeding in the first place...
For instance.... This summer, i was on my last bike (prior to getting the superhawk), and I was headed home from work, but decided to go out and have some fun.... I was headed through the town nearest to me, planning on hitting the edge of town and playing on the back roads.... Well... I was doing the speed limit, and was pulling up to a traffic light... There was a cop sitting at that intersection, turning right to go the way i just came from (opposite direction)... Now... a smart person would just pull up to the light and wait for green... no reason to start something right? well not me... I pull up to the light doing the speed limit, stop... And while i'm waiting.. the cop turns right, and heads off the other direction... i watched him fade off into my mirror, and finally when the light turned green.. instead of just riding off.... i hauled ***, and popped a wheelie... I guess i showed him....
Although i've always found its way more safe to run from cops when the cops aren't around...

see, i would never do that. i dont have the ***** for it, plus i have never owned anything that i have had enough confidence in to say that i would definitely get away. I've had a K-5, a grand am, a civic, a jeep cherokee, and a mazda 6.....maybe the 6 if i get a good jump, but its speed is governed to 120mph, so that would screw me right there. my dad had a 442 Olds and now i know why that wasnt given to me
running in a car seems so much more risky to me. everyone i know who has run in a car has been caught. i have never had a person run from me and get away. we have chased some pretty high end **** and they get caught. but, people also run in the most ridiculous cars...i have chased all kinds of stupid **** (geo metro, OLD honda accord, OLD pick up trucks, etc.). with these people, i dont know what theyre thinking. might be that flight response......no telling. some people just have rabbit in them.

Twice
First time I was pulling a wheelie on a SECA Turbo and a cop sitting in a school parking lot came after me. I passed a few cars at a stop light and made it to a buddies house around the corner out of sight. Pulled up his garage door and hid out. Light came on and his mom came in the garage and tore a strip off me for scaring her and running from a cop. Second time I was coming home after work doing 180km/h in an 80 zone on a slow curve when cherries come on going the other way. I buried it and about 3 miles later I see the lights catching up. I pulled over and the cop asks whats going on. I tell him my wife, who's 8 months pregnant, is going to kill me because she just bought me the bike 2 weeks ago (FZ600). He checks the tags and comes back with a ticket for 110 in an 80 because I didn't run or lie. I checked out his car, sleeper highway patrol, and the 180 degree skid he pulled and decided that it's probably safer for me and the cop if you get caught to pull over and hope for a good guy. You can always fight it in court, if you're alive.

chased a newer model vette, and a Mercedes 5 series stolen off the lot. both went 10-95. they werent really good drivers, though, and the vehicle couldnt compensate for driver error. stop sticks/PIT and a bunch of homies on that *** = going to jail. im sure a talented driver in a vette/gto would stand a good chance, though.

a couple of weeks ago i was on my way to work and the hawk was running really good. nice cool morning and nobody was around on this really nice back road and I just let it rip. usually if i come up on traffic i will slow down, but like i said the hawk was running really good. So I just kept the throttle pinned. So the car passing me the other was a cop, glanced at the speedo and I was somewhere around 140 in a 50. I got to work and pulled the hawk in my bay ( I work on Fords) and had a reall good day. As a side note I saw a cop in the stop and rob the other day and was on the bike and had my helmet in my hand and he told me to slow down cause he knew where I worked now and he would be watching me.

Hey Bowhawk, it's nice to give the BowPo a run every once in a while!
I was cooking asphalt coming home on the 401, and a cop tucked in behind me. I eased off the gas and slowed to about 120 or so. he stayed right behind me, so I got off the highway. Pulled into the Shell at 57/401 expecting him to follow, but he turned left into the Tim Hortons across the street. Guess he needed a doughnut pretty bad.
I also went by a radar trap on 57 at about 150km/h and just kept on riding, they didn't give chase. I had to take the long way home from that ride.

Arctic Fire,
I live just off 57 near the Shell. Don't get me wrong, I always twist the grip when I think I've been made and if I can get out of sight I'm gone. After they start the chase, it's better to play it safe. How do you like the new 50km over law? Up here, we immediately lose our ride for a week and have to pay towing, storage and a minimum fine of $2000. It's making running more attractive. It may be time to just track the hawk and get a supermoto single for playing around. I really enjoy a few trips down to Deals and Lake Placid every year so I'll probably keep the hawk registered on the road.

Yeah Bowhawk, I am not even sure what to think about the new law. I know that i am going to be nervous every second I drive over 150, which honestly, isn't really that fast on our bikes. There is stretches of the 404 north of all the clutter that I tend to fly on.
I think I may end up going the track route as well. maybe we could get together on this? I hear shannonville's not to bad and if we dare, mosports right up the street! I have to sell the mustang this year so I am going to need something to keep my adrenaline up!

Yeah I ran three times the first few weeks I had my first superhawk. Was just alot easier to twist the throttle a little harder and thread a few cars than get some b.s. ticket. However, I was young, it was ******* stupid, and I'm not proud of it.

ive never run but i saw a guy do it last summer on the interstate. he used the shoulder to pass two trucks running side by side. till the cop got by the trucks the bike was gone. also last fall 3 young guys decided to run thru town on a 2 lane street. all 3 crashed and 1 died. i would rather pay a fine than not be around to spend time with my family. also ive already told my son if he does anything stupid, his bike gets sold.

I was riding my gsxr with a friend, he on a 900rr. We were riding our usual back roads, just one turn after another. We both raced at the time so the roads were good passing into turns practice. I shot passed him into a sweeping right at about 120 mph and slowed for the next hard left and all the sudden the yellow 900 rr BLOWS past me. I jumped in behind him and we go at it for about 5 mins. Then all the sudden he jumps off the main road and goes into town. I follow not realizing what is going on. (my bike was in race trim, no lights, mirrors or liscense plate with a cheetah composits body on) We finally end up at his elderly parents house and he pulls around back, jumps off his bike, opens the garage door and rides in waving me on. I thought he had to **** or something. I ride in and he shuts the door and looks out the window. I asked whats up and he said "you didn't see the cops chasing us?" Apparently when I passed him, there was a constable off the road. I was watching the turn and totally missed him. He gave chase for a while I guess. I never saw him.
I have passed cops on or other high speed road but they are used to it and usually just wave a shameful finger at me.

I think we need an OFFICIAL opinion on this particular ***.....
and since your a cop.... having EVIDENCE should be NO PROBLEM !!! RIGHT?

I've been pulled over a dozen times on my hawk and have never received a ticket. The last two times I was able to get to a stop before the cop could move from his hiding place and get the lights on. Both were over 125. we just bullshitted about bikes and I went off with a warning. one time I actually rode the shoulder back to the car and he didn't even get out - just rolled down the window and told me to slow down.
I have run, but that was a long time ago. Now I just own it and there seems to be a mutual respect. I can live with that.

the only thing that makes me in the mood to comply is a subpoena.

Oh yeah Dude, I know what you mean. I used to evade cops on purpose by tonting them all the time till I wrecked my Gixxer. I love it cuz its such a rush. I remember one time Jason and I had a few brews then dared each other to race down highway 2 where we new there was a SP sitting up ahead on an onramp. I don’t know how fast we were flying cuz I didn’t dare take my eyes off the road, cutting in and out of cars and all. Sure enough I could see the lights flashing behind us in the mirror. We took the next exit and then split up taking different side streets cuz we new the cop couldn’t follow both of us. Man it was just like in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Luckilly the cop followed Jason, but he lost him easilly enough.
But I don’t tont cops on purpose no more since I lost my license. Thats just plane stupid. But I have had to outrun cops since then cuz theres no way I’m getting pulled over without a license again.

I try not too judge people... but you might make the logical conclusion that while getting pulled without a license is bad, there might be a reason that you are not supposed to operate said vehicle while not having a license...
Newtons laws of physics applies to morons in more than one way... The literal and the practical...
"For every action, there is a reaction"...
Also getting on a bike after drinking any alcohol is enough to earn the title of moron...
