Barber AMA and WERA action pics *56k warning*
I know I don't have many posts but that will change as of Friday. Friday I should be picking up a 02 VTR with relative low miles!! Hope the bike ends up being as nice as it seems from what I know.
I figured since I didn't have any VTR knowledge to talk about I might as well post ***** some with a crap load of pics .
I enjoyed the Redbull Rookies Cup 250cc KTM's...
Couple of Triumph 675's. I love those bikes and wanted one and still do LOL...

Thanks and yeah these are all mine (and not even close to all of them ).
I shoot with a Nikon D80 and have been doing photography for a few years. Didn't use the greatest of lenses for these but it gets the job done on my budget
Thanks for the comments everyone and I'm glad you enjoy looking at these. I'll post up some more when I get off my butt and go thru the rest of them.
One thing I find interesting every time I shoot bikes at the track and is how the chain gets in this harmonic frequency at really high rpm's. You can see it in some of the angles. Pretty wild.

Nice portfolio!
So you're going from pictures to really doing it on your own bike!
That's great!
If you're new to the street do a MSF course. Also do a search for "track days" and you will learn a lot from members who done one or more. Everybody says it makes you better on the street.
Helmet cam is next for the Superhawk?
Wear your gear!

The SH will be my 6th bike (4th being a Honda!) . I never took the MSF course back when I first got on the street years ago. I probably should have but I learned alot growing up as a kid riding dirt bikes. The MSF course they do in our area is actually just down the street from my house and someday I wouldn't mind taking the course just to at least say I've gone thru it. Who knows, I could probably learn something I might not already know, or have experienced. I've had my share of close calls with death, from both my own fault and also from cagers trying to run me off the road.
I've always wanted to do some track days. Not to learn to race or anything but to be able to push a bikes limits, and my own, without fear of being on the street. I'm not a real aggresive rider on the street anymore. Those days are long gone after losing a friend to stunting. Now I just do light spirited riding to have fun, but not go overboard on the street. Save that for the track .
Yup. Just below Birmingham
You know me from another forum or something heh?
These were all shot form the cheapy Nikkor 70-300mm G f/4.5-5.6 (non-ED element and non-VR model). AF is slooooowwww and it has a tendency to have pretty noticeable chromatic abberation in high contrast areas. But overall it's not bad for a budget lens I suppose.

Yup very nice track. I'll post up some from the supermoto class later this weekend for you. I'd love to own a 400SM even though I'm not big on the Zuks. Thanks for looking and the comments
Anyone else notice the guys boots on the RC in the last two shots? LOL, now I know work boots can be helpful and all, but if I'm on the track pushing the bikes limits, I'd have to have 100% proper riding gear. I guess some guys gotta do what they gotta do.

The Zuks are down on power compared to the big KTM's and my CRF450R. I can hit 100 on the little dirt bike and get passed at the end of the front and rear striaghts, but i can pass them back on the outsides of the turns and down the roller coaster.
These are great pics.......

Oh yeah, man oh man I wanted to test ride the KTM 690 SM at Barber when the KTM Rider Experience was there for this years AMA event. Sadly all the slots were filled up almost immediately . Maybe I'll get another chance next year if they come back. I know to be there bright and early on sign-up next time !
However I did get a 30 minute slot on the SuperDuke 990. What a great bike! Power everywhere. Felt very similar to the Speed Triple in terms of fun and just incredible hooligan-inducing powa' ! Those two bikes bring out the worst in people, but in a good way.... or maybe not for some!!
Thanks again!

Yea, i know what you mean, the SM really doesn't require much braking in the turns. Just point it and go.
I have to restrain myself when i am out on the street with the SM.

Nice! The guy in the first picture of the wera practice (897) is a freind of mine. If you ever want to do a track day Jennings Fl isn't too far from you and they have open track days just about every other weekend. I'll be back up there in August.

Thanks for the heads up on the track days as well

I'll have to dig around and see if I got any more of him or the bike.
If you're a Duhamel fan you will enjoy thisd one from last years race (and last years CBR)
since I'm posting a pic from last year I might as well post one of my favs from that group of shots.....
