Any Musicians here?

I know there are a few on here... who plays an instrument regularly?

Been playing drums for almost 15 years now... also play a little guitar, and I do mean a little.

Sorry for the random thread, I'm bored... visiting with the in-laws and I'm trying to ease the pain.

I have a black takamine acoustic/electric guitar and I should be way better than I am at playing it for how long I've had it, Just haven't had a lot of time to play.

Oh and good luck with the in-laws!

Looks like I'm the only Bass player to respond so far. Typical. Everybody wants to be the Guitar Hero. The good thing about being the bass player or drummer: you can always find a band to jam with. Guitarists are a dime a dozen, but the rythym section is harder to come by and is kinda important, no? My rig: Ibanez SR 400 with active pickups (both single coil and humbucker), Behringer BX4500H 450 Watt head with Hartke 4 X 10 speaker cabinet. I also sport a Dean playmate acoustic bass for quiet practice or campfire fun. Check out my band at http://workingmanbluesband.com/.
Merry Christmas everybody!

Been playing since I was a kid, starting off with drums and then moving to bass as a teenager. Soon thereafter I started playing guitar and that led to getting home recording gear. Played bass and sang a little in a bar band during my college years and continued guitar as a means to songwriting and recording. The whole recording thing led me to learn rudamentary keyboard playing and about 5 years ago I had the full-on 16 track digital home studio with electric, acoustic and bass guitars, keyboards with sequencing, Roland V-drums, a crap load of mics and a rack full of outboard gear.

Problem was, with a job and family it was just way too time consuming, and I was too burned out to do anything creative with the little time that I had, so I sold everything except for the guitars and bought some cool motorcycles instead.

Ironically I just ordered myself a Boss BR-600 just to have something simple and fun to play around with without having a roomfull of stuff to deal with.

I play some guitar. More than a little, but not 'a lot' really. I have the problem of being far enough along in learning that I pick up the guitar and just play rather than doing my finger drills, which means an hour later I've been playing a while but haven't really been practicing. My wife got me a cool 3-guitar stand for Christmas so I could get all the axes out in rotation rather than having the Ibanez in its case and the other two on single-guitar stands.

Does Rockband count? Of course it doesn't. I play with my 5 yr old. He's always on the drums.

I have a harmonica, does that count? Hell ya!
I'm a musician. Cool.

Got an Ibanez SR405 5-string Bass I play almost daily. I play through a Ampeg B2 head with a Boss ME-50B processor into a Laney stack, 4-10 and 1-15.
The collection includes two Aria Pro II ZZ Deluxe, Red and Zebra, and a Takamine Acoustic.

I used to play trombone in Jr High (made it to 2nd chair of a school band, so that means nothing) then I learned enough guitar to play the scales up and down (and promptly forgot again).. Other than that, I play a mean MP3

He indie what happened to the skin flute option on the poll.
Little too riske'?
I was going to say that being married with two kids, mine just stays put away and nobody really plays it.
I thought we could get some fun borderline inappropriate banter out of that one.

I guess you didn't read my post above, there's singers aplenty.

According to my significant other I have a tendancy to hit notes not even invented... So I'm out of the running for lead vocals...

I can however mangle a tune on either piano, guitar, violin, cello or bassviolin (passable with a bass) or trumpet, saxophone or trombone... I have also been known to offend ears with a bagpipe... Any purists would probably kill me, but I can make it sound (reasonably) and play basic melodies...

My main instrument however would be the cello... Yeah, I know... It's a bit odd for a 6'3", 210 lbs guy to play that... And it wasn't any less odd when I started in first grade... But the teacher was a 21y old blonde with a killer body and my "classmates" was 7 girls 3-4 years older than me and the potential for the same greatness as the teacher... It just so happens I was good at it too...

I have been playing bass for about 26 of my 45 years on the planet. I have a very part-time band with my brother (who plays guitar and sings). We do about half original material and half cover songs ranging from the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Weezer. I'm a bass nut, and love my Spector basses the most.

Singer wasn't an option, so I put other. I sing barbershop music and have two CD's to my name. Hopefully another in the near distant future.

HAHA I knew someone would beat me to it... I used to also play a little guitar but it's unfortunately been a long time since my brother moved out and took all his guitars with him.

I've lead a samba/percussion group for the last 5 yrs, playing samba reggae and that sort of thing, but before that I have played drum kits.

I play bass, drums, and guitar with a little bit of vocals.(acoustic stuff) I play in a metal band though right now. You should see me ride to practice with my bass strapped to my back sticking way up in the air!! Music is good for the soul just like strapping on the gear and twisting that throttle.

first pic. me and the singer-2nd pic. just us playin-third and 4th pic. on tour in the van! ( I know, the pics are big!)
