WTB: rear shocks
#2
Last I checked there "was" recently a used Ohlins on Fleabay. Honestly who knows how old that stuff is though and by the time you're done running around getting it rebuilt and spending how much in the process, I'd consider just buying a brand new shock from someone who's been doing it forever and avoid all the hassle. My 2 cents anyway...

I was initially looking at Ohlins - but heard that they are typically difficult to find used.
How much are the going rate for maintenance service for Ohlins these days?

I had a Fox serviced by Daugherty for my Hawk...about 250-300 IIRC.
Ohlins just done by Andreani (US Ohlins reps) for my VFR...about 375 shipped.
Both work good as new...excellent service for both.
This really depends on what you can find used, the prices of those, and whether you'd like new. Mine were cheaper to service than replace.
New choices are a bit limited, as Fox & Ohlins aren't selling many Superhawk models any more. Penskes are nice, but $$$$...and YSS nice, but less adjustable & more affordable.
My Fox is fully adjustable (compression, rebound, preload) & Ohlins even has a remote adjuster (not available for Superhawks now).
Good luck with your search.
