WTB Front Rim

I'm looking for a replacement stock front rim for my 98 Superhawk. Here's why:

I decided to test the warning label on the brake fluid bottle and see how it would affect my front rim. The results:

Motul 5.1 - 1 Superhawk Rim - 0

I couldn't believe I was that careless that I didn't wipe up the excess fluid from my rim. Maybe because it's black I didn't notice it right away. Now I've got a nice polished part among the otherwise all black rim, and it's a real eyesore.

Perhaps someone would like to trade? Anyone looking to alter their stockers???

wouldn't it be easier to just repaint it?

I've never looked into it, but powder coating can't be THAT expensive. And when all else fails "rattle can black" has never let me down.

recently stripped my outer rims and repainted the spokes gray. looks bitchin' if you ask me and the front rim was much tougher than the rear for some reason. whenever you **** up... customize and say you did it on purpose!

FYI, F4i fronts are the same and more plentiful but what's wrong with touch up paint? Replacement is an extreme solution to say the least.

You are quite right sir! I was only thinking about the 3 spoke design. An F4i wheel will still bolt on you just need the matching rotors too; same size as the VTR just different bolt pattern.

If polished rims were my thing, it would already be done!

Besides touching it up myself with some Krylon, I figured that a used rim would be about the same as paying someone to do a decent job. Perhaps doing touch up work on a wheel is a small task.

If I had already had the bike for some time it wouldn't be a big deal. But I just got it a few weeks ago and she is nearly flawless. Oh well, it's not like anyone notices while I'm riding!
