WTB: Factory Pro +4 Ignition Advancer
#5
If I remember correctly the 2002-2005's don't benefit from the +4 as it's already programmed into the ignition module. The +4 only helps 98-2001 (and it may be that the 01's have the newer ignition not sure on that one)

Just what it sounds like,, statically advances the ignition 4 deg.
All it is, is a trigger star just like the OEM one, that has the index slots off set 4 deg..
It has been said no difference is noted when installed on the 2001 and up. But I do not know of anyone that actually checked the stock ignition advance, for all years, by market (US, UK, JAP, ect) and noted what it was,, then again with a advance using anything from a dial back timing light to more advanced electronic devices .

I have a 2005 with this advancer, certainly hasn't caused me any problems after approx 20,000ks
I know of others with late models that have it as well.
So I wonder if I now have 8 degrees advance what with a programmed 4 and a mechanical 4?, or does the mechanical override the programmed?
Who knows it goes O.K!

I didn't install one because I read a lot of older posts saying the 2001+ models already had the advance, so it was useless.
Instead I spent the $40 on having my flywheel lightened to Roger Ditchfield's spec. A local machinist did it for me. Quite the difference.
Does anyone have a rotor from a 2001, and a Factory Pro +4 advance rotor they could compare?
