wanted: cb 750
hey all looking for an older 78 - 85 CB 750 four, or any old bike for that matter. I would like to find one that has been sitting for a couple of years, but in ok shape, for real cheap. I need a 2up bike that the old lady can ride on the back of. Dont want to spend alot of money because i dont have none. I hate riding 2up on my superhawk.

I find my stock superhawk great for 2up riding. With as much torque as it has I don't really get all that slowed down by an extra 100lbs and if you are smooth with the power delivery she should enjoy the ride too. I wouldn't want to do 2up on my buddies GSXR-750, though he does all the time.

I have enough problems keeping the front down with just me on the bike. With weight up and back... riiighht. Wheelie hell here I come.
Wheelie heaven is pretty much every time I ride alone. Wheelie hell is when I pull an unannounced wheelie with my wife on the back, and get kidney punched.
Even though the V-star is 'hers', it's really more like 'my other bike that she'll actually ride on the back of...'

Ah, I have only once accidentally wheelied with a passenger, but I do know what you are talking about. I tend to ride calmer with a passenger than when alone. Anywho, what are you looking to spend? A quick craigslist search in the VA area (if your info is correct) showed a CB900 and a old naked goldwing for sale in the $1000 - $1300 range. Locally I found a GSX1100G for $2200, temping.. Just be careful with craigslist, plenty of scams there. Though that is where I found my superhawk.

I have an '80. How much are you looking to spend. Not sure if I want to sell yet but I might have to. It's running, just needs a regulator/rectifier. Comes with a rear rack and seat back, extra set of bars, 26k mi. Needs a rear tire.

You should just teach her to ride her own and buy her something to ride instead of something old and no fun.
I have a CB450 and I would much rather carry a passenger on the SH than the CB. The CB feels like a death ride with the handling and braking abilities... or shall I say lack there of?

Are you willing to travel a little? I have a 2000 Kawasaki ZR7 for sale. You have to wait some though as I am waiting to get the title back, it currently has a NJ salvage title and I need to get it inspected in NYS before I can part with it.
