FS: My Superhawk - $1200 - SOLD
Hey gang. I got into a motorcycle accident last Wednesday, and have decided to stop riding on the street. The bike has damage to the plastics and gas tank only - the swingarm, forks, and frame are all straight and damage free. The wheels are also straight, except for a few small scratches from tire changes.
The title is "Salvage," which was from the plastic damage the last time I crashed.
I'm guessing this bike would be a great bike to stunt, track, or just as a spare parts bike.
Registration is just paid, and is good to September '07.
Here is what the bike comes with:
-Race Tech fork springs (1.0kg/mm)
- Goodridge SS brake lines
- ZG DB windscreen (clear)
- F2 Heli bars
- APE MCCTs
- MiG high-mount slip-ons
- PitBull spool adapters + spools
- R6 mirrors (slightly scratched on the backside of one mirror...not the glass part)
- Pazzo Racing levers (gold with black adjusters....small scuff on the tip of the brake lever)
- LP rear turn signals
- LP preload adjusters
- Gilles rearsets (missing the shift rod from when my mechanic did not install it tightly...I used my stock shift lever in place of the Gilles unit)
How about $1200?

DAMN IT MAN!!!! It's been a bad year for bikes, Are you ok? I've been seriously thinking of just track riding myself, good luck on the sale, I wish I had the extra cash. Keep your head up man!

Like SoCal - SoFlo
There's just too much traffic for bikes in South Florida and Southern California. Too many old farts in SoFlo too. You and Omp need to move to Texas where all the morons have to be home by supper time and all the old farts are in by 4PM. Where will you ride? Going to do the track thing only? I left the street after loosing two friends in the same summer on the street. Rode dirt for a while - did trials for a while - gonna do it again. But I love my Hawk too. I hope you're not too dinged up. You've been on this forum for a lot longer than most. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing you the best!

Thanks for the well-wishes guys. I'm doing ok. My clavicle hurts every now-and-again....I see it as a reminder to take my vicodin.
I just got into SuperMotard two months ago. It was a lot of fun. The first time I caught air was a huge adrenaline rush - it was only about two or three feet up. But man, what a blast! Cost of entry is less, as well as any crashes.
nuhawk, sorry about your friends that have passed. No doubt, the street is a dangerous place. I actually would probably keep riding on the street, but I saw the impact it had on my family...and that was just from a broken bone! That was enough for me to choose. Plus, I plan on starting a family soon (more than just a dog and a cat), so the responsibilities will be adding up.
calitoz - Sorry, I wish I could. I don't have the stock units to replace them with, and would not want to deal with the hassle of swapping them in and out. I've got fat hands, and it's hard to get into those tiny spaces. They are not too expensive, though, to buy them from APE. Don't forget you need two, and don't forget the gaskets too.

Listen to the DR.'s and don't use your arm, I've got a bump the size of a golfball on my collar bone because I kept riding even though it was broken. I bet tires are cheaper for the tard as well! Damn track riding.
#7
I try not to use my arm, but it's my good arm. I always forget about the collarbone, especially when I'm on my cell phone. I'm one of those people that likes to put the phone between the shoulder and ear. Ouch!
I definitely plan on following the doc's orders. I just hope I don't need surgery (it's a possibility).
Track tires can be cheaper on tards, but it depends on what you use. I put slicks on mine, and while they are supersticky, they also cost a lot and can fade quickly (too many heat cycles).

Good reasons to take a break. At least you're still riding and that's the important thing. However, THE most important thing now is to heal properly. Surgery and PT and the down time are worth reconning with now. Take the money you get from the bike and buy a Blue Tooth!

Damn, hope you're ok. Sounds like you're not too bad which is what counts-that's good. Sorry about the bike-going down is one of the more shitty feelings but being able to get back up is always a blessing. When I almost/should've been killed a few years ago I ended up buying a gsxr600 racebike when I got better because I wanted to get off the street too. I have a sickness that I can't leave things alone though and spent two years restoring the bike and making it street legal again...I must say that I sadly don't enjoy riding on the street nearly as much as I used to and get alot of my kicks working on/customizing/tinkering with the bikes now, and fixing up an old bomber here and there. Too bad you're not nearby, I'd probably take it home because I'd love to get a track bike. Best of luck and feel better.

Thanks! I'm glad you made it out through your accident...I'm a firm believer that all things happen for a reason, and while I'm not quite cognizent of what's in store for me, I'm thankful that I have a second chance.
#13
Damn, brother, good to hear you're at least not too bad off. Yeah, take it easy for a while and heal up well. Shame about the bike...and your decision to sell it. So, what exactly happened to cause the wreck? Man, it's going to be a shame to see you go. You've been on this forum longer than I have, and we know each other from waaaay back in the RLZ days. You'll be a loss to the Superhawk community and the forum. Really wish you'd stay.

damn i wish i could afford to grab that from you right now
you have a lot of goodies id love to have, not to mention the extra OEM parts that are still good. if you digress into parting out, id definitely be interested (yeah, yeah, vulture)
hope you get to feeling better, and best wishes on whatever it is you decide to do

No worries Hawkrider...you'll still see me lurking around from time-to-time, getting in my shots at the spammers when I have the chance.
Yeah, today actually is my birthday. Took the family out to some good eating at Lawry's (great place for prime rib). Scored a lot of awesome stuff, too (I don't think I'll ever grow out of getting presents) - Ogio gear bag for myself (I will still be doing SuperMotard) and a DSLR from the wifey.
Radiaoktiv - The bike is almost sold, so parts would depend on what the new owner wants to do with the bike.
cliff - Thanks for the well-wishing. Why not use your current steed for trackdays? Or just to try them out. Heckuva lotta fun.

Hey Cliff, there's a track not too far from you in S.C. called Carolina Motorsports park and STT,(sportbike track time), is having a couple of track days there on the 30th and Oct. 1st. It's only $120 for the day and you get food and stuff. If you sign up for the novice group they give you classroom time and track time with lots of instructors to see how you're doing. For the newer guys they really focus on getting the right body positioning, throttle control, hitting the line and staying safe. Here's a link and normally you have to be a member but not this event.

Hahahaha, that is a huge relief. Thanks for understanding. I was completely taken aback when I saw one-zero-zero.
