High angle exhausts
Hey guys I'm looking for some high angle aftermarket cans for my firestorm and can't seem to find them any where. When I say high angle I mean like this:
More like that of an SP2. I don't want high levels and I often think standard ones aren't quite at the right angle. Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Joe

i've always thought that the mufflers on a sport bike should be parallel to the bottom line of the tail fairing. i've not been a big fan of crazy bends in the elbow pipe to bring the muffler up. a smooth, sweeping bend from under the bike is what i like for the elbow. i think my hawk has yosh that are close to parallel.
then i got my rc51 and began to change my mind. the elbow has the smooth and sweeping bend but then keeps bending past parallel, the way you like it. it's grown on me too.
one time, back in my young and foolish days, i bent the pipe by hand. i grabbed the tail end of the muffler and pulled up. i pulled it up little by little until it was upswept pretty steep. i should try to find a pic of that and post it.

Yosh doesn't make their full system anymore. I tried to buy one off a guy selling his bike locally but he wouldn't go for it. He claimed he could get me one new but it was like $1500-$1600...something crazy. The easiest way to duplicate the low to high look I found was to use a pair of two brothers high mount hangers with a pair of hindle standard mount slip ons. The mids just rotated up and everything still fit great and looked awesome. Im sure you could do the same with plenty of other high mount hanger/standard mount slip on combos. If you use the search (try keywords like "high mount" and "hindle") tool I used to have a picture I'm sure you can still find here the forum.

I like both angles....but 7 years ago High Swept Parrallel was all the rage!
New rubber and all electrical back on board. Almost ready to pass inspection and be street legal again. I miss this old girl. Rode her down some dirt\back rodes and seems to have cleared her throat. Love this forum. Wasn't here back in the day I set this bike up.
