Smrz is now top qualifier on a 1098R, with Spies 8th. It will also be interesting to see how Corser and Xaus do on the new Beemer.

Haga is second in practice so that means he has at least another second a lap during the race. If Haga is in the top 10 at any race he is my pick. Unless Biaggi takes him out or he pulls a Nori and throws it down the track which is about 50-50 :) I really hope Haga can put it together this season it is definitely his turn.

Yep. Almost always a delay for Race Two. You won't see me around on any MC-related forums until Wednesday - don't want the ending spoiled!!

Start looking for the torrents on Sunday, they usually show up early afternoon or so. I hate waiting until tuesday...

In case you didn't know Ben Spies took Super Pole for this weekend in OZ. Looks like this cross plane cranked Yamaha will be strong and probably the bike to beat here in AMA/DMG whatever.

I wish the towtruck network gave a damn and we could let them know that 12 hours of nascrap a day is not equal to an hour of superpole coverage or live/same day coverage of all of the races (not condensed). But no amount of vocal bitching seems to make a difference. I can't even find a feed online to catch it...

:iagree: In AMA I was always rooting for ANYBODY to beat Mladin, and Spies was about the only one who ever could. I think Mladin is arrogant.

Bottom line is...I just want to see good racing. And yes, Haga on the Duc will be tough to beat. Also, how can we help but to root for the V twin, Bayliss was a class act.

From what I can tell, Spies is anything but arrogant. The guy can ride. FWIW I'm looking forward to seeing Haga, the Bimmers and the V-4 Aprillia too.

Damn... now that cast has quite a few new character's... and Corser's not even in the top 15? Wow!

Glad to finally have an American back in WSB. Colin Edwards really put on a show on the RC51 a few years back. Should be fun watching Spies draggin' elbows on world-class tracks.

And the new Aprilia qualifying 2nd... on a totally new machine, that's amazing! Should be a fun year to watch.

In case you haven't heard Spies ran off track in race 1 and finished 16th, however the boy won race 2 narrowly beating Haga and Biaggi. Don't know the details yet. Now that's a damn fine show!

Great effort by Spies in the second WSB race yesterday. His start lap was better than anyone else's, by miles, and he fought off the challenges very well.

MotoGP was the most exciting racing on the planet until they ruined it by going to the current 800cc formula.
The last couple of years have seen WSB return to exciting racing after a few years in the doldrums. This year promises to be no exception.

The more variety the better: Kenan Sofoglu from Turkey in 600 SuperSport for example (where he is already back to doing better than he did in WSB).

I can't wait until some of the talented riders from SE Asia get a push to try the bigger classes. And just imagine how it will be if the motorcycle industry in China really gets into this stuff.

yeah we're screwed here in the US because of Speed TV who broadcasts the races on a delay. The SBK website won't let us view the races until some time after they've aired on Speed.

So basically motorcycle racing fans in the US get fucked left and right... Shitty coverage and you can't even watch the coverage that's offered from other sources.

I heard u can trick the SBK site by using a proxy server though.

i saw on another forum that you could use a proxy server that's located in, let's say Europe to view the races on SBK. I tried to do that but it didn't work. I'm probably doing something wrong so if anybody knows how to do it I'm sure we'd all like to hear. that's all i know:mad::confused:

why am I such a rar fag? I can't figure that sheet out...

I watched both races on Tuesday, BOTH were great. Spies ran off the track TWICE in race 1 and still came in 16th. Haga ran a great race in both.

And in race 2, how can anyone on the forum not like the fact that an American, a V twin, and a Honda were all on the podium, in that order.

Great racing I thought, very enjoyable. I can't wait for the rest of the season, Haga and Spies will be duking out often I bet. Haga can be near unstoppable sometimes, and already he's making the transition to Duc nicely based on his performance. A little more seat time and I'll bet he'll be on top often. The beemer did OK the first race...I forget how it did the second.

I can watch it all on SBK's sight now, so those of you who missed it/couldn't stream it before should be OK now. It gave me the error at first saying I wasn't authorized, so I searched wsbk in yahoo, followed the link, clicked on the 550K stream under full race, and it worked great. Both races were watchable on the site.
